Aosta Valley has a suitable climate  for winegrowing, already practiced in Romans times.

ROUTES DES VINS is the road of  Aosta Valley DOC wines, wich have a genuine and typical taste of mountain viticulture (among which Gamay, Cornalin, Fumin, Torrette, Petit Arvine and many others). The city hall of Gressan and Jovençan are part of itinerary 3 "Wines of Mount Emilius" which extends for 35 km including 7 towns.

Aosta valley's wines deceived various important awards at a national level and abroad. Around the Tour De Villa castle, you can appreciate the vines of expert local producers: Curtaz Diego, Cuneaz Nadir, La Cave Gargantua.

AZIENDA AGRICOLA SAINT-GRAT

 

 

At the foot of the moraine, near the castle of Tour De Villa, lies the Azienda Agricola Saint-Grat. Apple orchards, potato fields and a family vegetable garden await you for a visit. There you can taste and buy different varieties of Valle d'Aosta apples: the Royal Gala, the Renette, the Golden Delicious, the Janagold, the Mairac and the Stark.

RISERVA NATURALE COTE DE GARGANTUA

 

An ancient legend tells that the reserve was the little finger of the giant Gargantua but this spur, rich in deposits of glacial origin, hosts on its slopes an interesting variety of animals and plants.

Among the plants, the Artemisia vallesiaca, a rare aromatic Alpine plant and the Telephium imperati, a species of Mediterranean origin.

For Trekking lovers the reserve can be reached from different entrance with a difference in height of 165 meters and 1 hour excursion.
